Once upon a time, there was a husband and wife named Sean and Olivia Blair. They worked and played and worked and played and life was good. One day, Sean’s beloved hockey team, The Calgary Flames, made it to The Stanley Cup Finals. After years of working at a local Irish Pub, Sean had made many Canadian friends. He decided to take these friends on an adventure to a bar that promised to make his dreams of watching The Flames achieve a victory. Unfortunately, those dreams were not fulfilled. Upon arrival, we found a tiny television dedicated to hockey, and the service received was…lacking. After the game, our fair couple started talking about how great it would be to open their own bar. A bar that would show all the hockey games, all the time. Their dream became The Maple Leaf Pub.
After more than a year of trying to find the perfect spot, and a year of building, on February 15th 2006 The Maple Leaf Pub opened it’s doors for the very first time. Since then, The Leaf has become Houston’s only spot for hockey. Not only that, but The Leaf is also a comfy neighborhood bar that welcomes everyone.
We pride ourselves on being welcoming to all. Being clean and friendly and providing the best service in town.
When asked to describe the bar I always say, “it’s like if your best friend had a really awesome basement.”
